Vienna Public Transport: Fare Changes and Summer Works for 2026

Two changes are worth knowing about if you're planning a Vienna trip this year: a fare increase on the city's public transport, and a run of construction works that will affect several lines over the summer.

Annual pass price increase

Wiener Linien raised the price of its annual public transport pass from January 2026 — the first increase since 2012 — with the yearly ticket now costing more than before, still inexpensive compared with most Western European capitals. Summer construction works

Several infrastructure projects are planned across the network through summer 2026, including a period with no S-Bahn service between Praterstern and Floridsdorf, plus works affecting sections of the U3, U4 and U6 lines and various tram routes.
